We’re now entering the final week of the London Games, so to mark this occasion it’s Olympic Week here on the Daily Photo.

This shot is of one of the crowd at the road cycling time trials last week in south west London. I took this shot a bit surreptitiously; this was taken with my macro lens only a couple of feet from the subject, so I kept my camera low and snuck a glance with LiveView mode whilst manually focussing. It took a couple of goes, but I got the shot.

I welcome any discussion about shooting people in public places without their knowledge. Legally it’s not a problem, and I’m too socially awkward to ask directly, so I tend to go for the ‘hope they don’t notice’ method.
