It’s the twelfth day of Christmas, and as well as receiving twelve ladies dancing, eleven pipers piping and all that other stuff that I can’t remember because I normally only ever listen to parody versions (my favourite being ‘eleven… legs on a spider on a stool’) it’s traditionally time to make sure all of your Christmas decorations are down and packed away for next year.
My wife and I took down ours yesterday. As ever, the tree made a massive mess – we don’t buy a non-drop tree, preferring instead a heady scent, and most of the time it isn’t a problem. Until you have to remove it from the house. This usually ends in a new, green carpet made of pointy.
Most years, this turns into an ‘End of Xmas’ photograph of a fallen ornament in the pine needles. I posted one last year, in fact. This is this year’s image.
