   so here is my question are using a child theme for your archive?

      Hi Scott

      Nope, the ‘Archive’ link above is literally just a link to creativesplurgesdailyphoto.wordpress.com/2012, which is the archive for the whole year as created automatically by WordPress. You should be able to do the same by going to [yoursite]/2012, but obviously it is limited to just this year. I only do this because it was one of the default links on the old theme of this site and I liked it enough to keep it around.
